"The train began to move. Harry saw the boys' mother waving and their sister, half laughing, half crying, running to keep up with the train until it gathered too much speed; then she fell back and waved. Harry watched the girl and her mother disappear as the train rounded the corner."

Too young (to go to Hogwarts) - Commentary

This is the first song that Ginny ever wrote (and so will always be one of her favourites). it was inspired by her first encounter with Harry on platform 9 3/4. The episode is quite emotional for her as she is upset because Ron is starting Hogwarts leaving her alone at home and so she starts to cry as she says goodbye.

Fred and George cheer her up a little  - we took a liberty here and decided that, despite their reassurances to Molly, the twins did actually send Ginny the Hogwarts toilet seat after all! But as all Harry Potter fans know, Ginny is not the type of character to stay miserable for long (except when she's being possessed by Lord Voldemort of course -see commentary for Dear Tom) and so in this song she makes a decision to try to persuade Ron to invite Harry on a summer visit to The Burrow. Well who's idea did you think it was?

Too young (to go to Hogwarts) - Lyrics

I'm too young to go to Hogwarts
I'm the last one left at home
All my brothers have gone before me
Now I'm stuck here on my own
As they all waved goodbye
I couldn't help it I just started to cry
They said they'd write to me and send me some sweets
But all they sent me was a toilet seat
I'm too young to go to Hogwarts
I'm left standing on the platform with mum
I ran along and looked through the window
Harry Potter was sitting with Ron
Oh my gosh, I can't believe it
I thought i saw him looking at me
Could it be, the Boy Who Lived?
The boy I've always wanted to see
Why was I born too late?
I've got another year to wait
I just can't wait 'til when
I can see Harry again
I'm too young to go to Hogwarts
But I'll join them all next year
Instead of waiting filled with sorrow
I'll just ask Ron to invite him to the Burrow
